The Citadel is one of those spots I used to go to for my school trips to learn more about history for my social studies classes, but it was one of my favorites. It’s a cluster of old mosques in this area that has a completely different feel than the rest of Cairo. To give you some historical context, The Citadel was built by Salah-ElDin, the first sultan in the Ayyubid dynasty. It’s now one of Cairo’s most beautiful religious monuments. #mosque #saladin #cairo
