Kelantan is one of the most conservative states in Malaysia and very, very laid back. Famous for their silver and local cultural craft production, and I heard, nice beaches. As it is close to the Thai border, you may be able to notice the traces of Buddhist influence if you stay long enough. Not a tourist place though so you really need to set your expectations low, way low.
