Valle de Cocora
Salento seems to be more swarmed with backpackers every time I visit which is a bit of a turn off for me but this hike is still worth it. It's about five hours for the whole round trip, with only one short but really steep uphill part. The valley is named for the cocora Palm, Colombia's national tree and the tallest palm tree in the world. You don't have to do the full hike to see the trees you can just continue up the road from the parking area but unless you have a three year old with you (like me this last time I went) do the whole hike. It's worth it. The cloud forest and views up top are just as good as the palms at the end.
