Grossmünster
Zurich Cathedral is one of the key city symbols. Located right by the banks of the Limmat River, it was constructed on the site of a Carolingian church, originally commissioned by Charlemagne. Inside, you'll see a stained glass painted by the famous Swiss artist Augusto Giacometti. Go down to the crypt where you'll find an original Charlemagne statue. Right by the entrance, you'll see another door that will most likely be shut. Go inside anyway. The path will take you to a beautiful 12th-century cloister and an inner courtyard. #zurich #switzerland #history
