These ruins are right in the historic centre of the city, This is the remains of the main temple of the Aztec capital, Tenochtitlan and only discovered in 1978. Excavations are still ongoing. Ruins and artefacts are outside, some under cover with a museum also. You can still see the colour on some of the friezes outdoors. Museum has numerous floors and includes information on archaeology, flora and fauna, agriculture and rituals. #mexicocity #ruins #aztec
