Seaside, Oregon, was the final stop for American explorers, Lewis and Clark. One of my favorite fish and chips restaurant, The Fireside, is located on Seaside's main shopping strip. The sand sculpture in the photo: the artist is there often. He sits and waits for people to want a photo of the sculpture, then he will ask you to put money in a sand bucket in exchange. In Seaside, you can rent a four-man bike and pedal around town, and along a boardwalk which runs parallel with the ocean. Don't forget to bring a jacket or hoodie.
