No joke, this is my favorite place in all of Venice and I brought everyone who visited me while living there. Go as soon as it opens in the evening because it's crazy popular with locals. Order either a €3 spritz or prosecco and get the maximum 10 of the freshly made "cicchetti" (Venetian tapas) appetizers. They're €1 each and the best in the city. Then take your goodies and either snag a table outside or a spot on one of the two boats moored to the side of the canal there in front of the bar.
