The Hakodate morning markets cover four blocks in the centre of the city. They sell all sorts of fresh produce and also have stalls where you can buy meals. There’s a wide variety of seafood, including crab, a Hokkaido specialty. Some stalls have live fish in tanks, and even offer fishing rods for customers to catch their own.
