The Archeology Museums is the perfect place to either start, or finish your search for ancient Constantinople in modern-day Istanbul. What I found particularly interesting were the artifacts from the structures I already visited: one of the missing heads from the Serpent Column in Hippodrome, the mammoth iron chain from Galata tower, that would be stretched across the Golden Horn to prevent any ships from sailing in. Make sure to drop in to the museum courtyard cafe. It is a perfect spot for a cup of Turkish coffee among the Roman columns, statues, and Medusa heads
