Chinatown Central Plaza
While not as impressive as San Francisco's and I'm sure New York's (though I've never been) LA's Chinatown is definitely worth a visit to me just because it was SO LA. And I don't mean full of plastic surgery and movie stars or whatever (because that's not the real LA get off the TV). We were here for the firecracker festival marking the end of the Chinese New Year and the performers in the main square were students from a local high school performing traditional Mexican dances. In Chinatown at a Chinese festival. I love it! Signs on stores are not just Chinese and English but also include Vietnamese and Spanish as well. This beautiful melting pot of cultures is why I love LA so much. #free #souvenirs #statue #bargins #history
