Not too far from Obidos, Vinhos Cortém sits up in the mountainous countryside close to Caldas da Rainha. Cortém’s location makes for a very distinctive microclimate, producing wines with flavors that differ greatly from one another. The vineyards themselves are protected in a valley where the main type of agriculture is fruit production. Driving to this winery through the desolate, windy roads, you’ll come to find that there are really no public roads or houses in the valley.
