Foisorul de Foc
'Foisorul de Foc' means the "fire watchtower" in Romanian and it is maybe the most unusual museum in Bucharest. The building is a simple tower of 42 meters height, which was erected in a pure neo-Gothic style at the end of the 19th century. The idea behind this construction was to easily observe when a fire started in town before it spread throughout Bucharest (a town mainly constructed of wood houses at that time). The tower functioned as a fire watchtower only for 18 years (between 1892 - 1910) and it now houses the National Firemen' Museum. #bucharest #romania #museum
