The lake is surrounded by ever changing and surreal landscapes, so make sure to make a loop around the lake, this only takes around half an hour. You can also enjoy bird watching in the surrounding wetlands and visit Sigurgeir’s Bird Museum as well. I would highly recommend staying in Fosshotel Mývatn as the restaurant and some of the rooms offer panoramic views of the lake and the distant mountains. #photography #mountains #views
