Castel Sant'Angelo
This iconic Roman landmark is sacrosanct to opera lovers as the site of the final act of Puccini’s greatest work “Tosca”, where his heroine makes her final, fatal fling. (Spoiler alert: pretty much everyone else dies too.) History buffs may know it better as the original site of Hadrian’s tomb. And art fans can take in frescos, paintings and sculptures by various Italian artists. There’s a little something for everyone here..
