Jiuzhaigou (literally "Nine Villages Valley") takes its name from the nine Tibetan villages scattered in the hillsides. The blue, green, and turquoise-colored lakes originated in glacial activity. The local Tibetans call them "Haizi" meaning "son of the sea." #hiking
