The Porta Nigra is the symbol of Trier. It's an ancient city gate of Roman times. It's situated in the town centre and always surrounded by tourists and photographers, but if you want to spend some more time and get some more information about it, you can go inside and up on it. From the top floor of the Porta Nigra, you'll have a nice view over the town and the surrounding hills, however, unfortunately you have to pay to get inside (not much though). #art #history #architecture
