I went to see sunrise in the Kuelap Fortress. Amazing experience, and got to enjoy the site without any other tourists. You can stay at Pueblo Maria (that has many nice lodgings), about 30 minutes away from Kuelap, and arrive to the fortress 15 minutes before 6am to witness the colours of sunrise. You will find a few places offering breakfast besides the fortress and enter the fortress at 8 am.
