This neighborhood watering hole near the San Juan Mercado attracts a happily diverse range of pulque drinkers, from young heavily tattooed and pierced punks and hipsters to city sanitation workers at the end of their shifts to the 50+ crowd. Most tables are large and communal, and it’s almost always packed, even early in the day. (They open at 10 am Monday through Saturday). You won’t get bored between the loud and rowdy atmosphere, tunes on the jukebox, and colorful Aztex murals covering the floor and ceiling. It’s a must visit for a taste of Mexico City’s pulque culture.
