Raw herring is a really popular steet food in Amsterdam and something the locals have enjoyed for over 600 years! The proximity of Amsterdam to the North Sea makes it a perfect opportunity to try really fresh seafood! The herring is not technically ‘raw’ but dried in salt to give it a distinct flavour.
