Children's Peace Monument
Stand in a moment of silence with the colorful paper cranes at the Children’s Peace Monument.  Better still, fold a paper crane and send it in. These paper cranes are folded in the style of the ancient art of Japanese origami. A paper crane signifies a wish for world peace and it started with Sadako Sasaki. This tradition is now continued by many, especially children, in Japan and worldwide. Approximately 10 millions of paper cranes are sent to the site annually. You can admire these beautiful artworks that are housed in seethrough tents next to the Monument. #free #japan #westjapan #hiroshima
