Blue Lagoon Iceland
If you are planning a trip to Iceland, I've no doubt you've heard of the mother of all hot springs: the blue lagoon. At €40+ for a Basic ticket, you may want to skip this one and go to one of the real (and way less expensive) hot springs situated all around the country. This one is actually heated by a nearby power plant, and although the lava rock exterior with the pale blue waters is a pretty cool sight, the power plant and construction sight around are not so beautiful. I went in November, and I'm quite sure I was close to losing an ear. Any part of your body outside the water gets absolutely freezing and the silica in the water will dry out your hair and skin for a week or so after your visit. It is a fun novelty activity though! #extreme #hotsprings #iceland #novelty
