South Kaibab to Cedar Ridge
When visiting the Grand Canyon i think it's a must to hike at least part of the way down to get a real sense of the scale of this place. It's hard to put it in perspective until you put a bit of effort in. The South Kaibab trail has amazing views the whole way. We made it to Skeleton Point, the suggested turn around point for day hikers, and took about 4 hours round trip. It is STEEP going back up, easy to forget when you're walking down. Bring lots of water! And a camera of course.
