Independence Square (originally Pall Mall Square) is a park a very short walk from Port Zante which has a lot of history. Originally the square was the center of the slave market, where slaves bright over from Africa were bought and sold. A free surrounding homes still have evidence of shackles and chambers where slaves were kept before they were sold. In 1983 the square was renamed after St. Kitts and Nevis gained their independence. #history #free #statue #fountain #park
