Plaça d'espanya is right up there with the big landmarks of the city. Go very early (like, 7am) to catch the plaza empty so you can take some shots or go late in the evening during the summer to see the fountain and light show. At the top you'll see the national museum of art. The terrace offers a great view of the city and Tibidabo in the back. If you venture out to the right and up, you'll end up at one of the many awesome gardens. Across is the shopping mall Arenas which used to be a bullfighting arena, but cataláns decided to drop the tradition because its inhumane and because they don't want to associate with Spain.
