Mercado da Ribeira
The Manteigaria cafe in the Time Out Market is the perfect place to go for a coffee and a pastry to set you up for the day ahead. This is a popular spot for locals, and there is usually no queue, which is a consideration!
If you go to the bijou branch in Bica, then you can see the pasteis being made and squeeze along the tiny counter to perch for a moment and enjoy your custard tart. You can't linger here as there isn't space, so either be quick or grab your pastel de nata to go and enjoy the sun in the nearby square.
Manteigaria Bica is open until midnight, so it a great place to go for an after-dinner snack.
