Minovici Villa
Far away from the bustling city center of Bucharest, Vila Minovici is located in the northern part of the capital (near the Herastrau Park). The villa belonged to the famous doctor Nicolae Minovici who donated his properties to the people of Bucharest. In the 1970s, the house was built by the architect Christofi Cerchez in the so-called neo-Romanian style. The architect used as a model the traditional houses (locally called 'cule') from Oltenia region (southwest of Romania). Dubbed 'the villa with bells' because it has many small bells hanging from the roof, the villa now houses the popular art collection of Doctor Minovici and it has been open to the public as a free museum since 1916. #bucharest #romania #museum
