Tazumal Archaeological Site
Whilst not as impressive as the likes of Tikal and Chichén Itzá, El Salvador also has pre-Columbian Maya ruins dating back to the preclassic period. These ruins are the most important and extensively restored in El Salvador. Whilst small in stature, this is an interesting site to visit and has an on-site museum with some artefacts and replica statues. Note that all of the information in the museum is only in Spanish. #history #architecture #mayanruins #familyfriendly #museum
