The largest war memorial of the country and similar to Arc de Triomphe of Paris, India Gate is Delhi's landmark. Not as old as the other monuments, India Gate is a memorial from the British rule on India. Used as a picnic spot by locals the memorial is much more than that; a place to remember the soldiers who lost their lives in the World War. The Amar Jyoti Jawan added in 1971 is dedicated to the soldiers who fought in the Bangladesh Liberation War.
