The Rapid River Trail #113 starts across the street from the fish hatchery and winds it’s way up the river canyon. Fascinating rock structures loom overhead as you make your way upriver. The first bridge is fairly early on, the second one at about 4 miles, which makes for a good lunch/turn around point. Beyond the second bridge, the trail rises and splits in either direction along the ridge. It’s best to hit this trail in late spring before it gets too hot. The tics were already out in late April.
