Located near Krimulda Manor and the cable car is the ruins of the old Krimulda Castle. Built in the 13th Century the castle had various owners from a number of countries. The castle was destroyed by the Swedish in the early 1600's to stop the Polish settling there. The ruins are small, with free entry.
