Kamakura
Kamakura is a beautiful town with dozens of Buddhist Zen temples and Shinto shrines. Its most famous landmark is the Kotoku-in Temple’s Great Buddha, an almost 13 meters high bronze statue. This statue is breathtaking and has an amazing history as it is still standing after a big 15th-century tsunami. You can also get inside of the statue and see the impressing constructing technique that they used to build it. After you have admired the big Buddha, you can head to some of the many other beautiful temples around the city. One of the most popular temples as well has an impressive panoramic view of the whole town. Some of the temples don’t even have an admission fee. #Kamakura #japan #daytrip #tokyo
