Los Mandiles de Santa Lucía
I was told, by a local, that Los Mandiles was the best place to eat in Loreto and are known to have the best Molé sauce around. Due to my gluten allergy I opted out of the Molé, which is traditionally made with wheat flour, and had the fajitas instead. Located on the beach side of Loreto, I had a prime view of the water while I waited for my lunch. The restaurant was quaint and fun. My chicken fajitas were hot and super tasty with lots of colorful bell peppers. The homemade refried beans were better than any I’d ever had in the states. For dessert, I spotted plantains on the menu, Yes Please...err...Si, Por Favor! These sweet plantains were topped with cinnamon and sugar with dollops of crema (whipped cream). I may have missed out on the best Molé in the Baja but not on the best dessert! #loreto #mexicanfood #localfood
