The Blavatnik wing extension to the Tate Modern is a relatively new addition to London’s arts scene. As well as its artistic contribution however, this new extension also provides a superb new vantage point from its covered terrace at the very top. Beware at busy times there can be a queue for the rather cosy lifts, although there is also a set of stairs for the more energetically inclined. The wrap around terrace provides a full 360 panorama, however it’s the view looking north across the River Thames to the City and even Canary Wharf in the far distance which makes this worth the trip.
