Tashkent metro is in my opinion the most interesting tourist attraction in the city. Opened in 1977 under the Soviet era, it has been the only metro in Central Asia up to 2011. It was built to resist earthquakes and can serves as a fallout shelter. It has 3 line : Chilonzor, the red one and oldest, O'Zbekiston, the blue one, from 1984 and Yunusobod the green line finished in 2001.
