Cajamarca is a must see for all travelers who have interest in history. It is an attractive colonial town and the place where the first showdown between the Spanish and the Incas happened. Despite being greatly outnumbered the Incas were not victorious in this encounter. It was here in 1532 where the Spaniard Pizarro ambushed and captured Atahualpa, the king of the Incas.
