Turkmenistan is a landlocked country bordering Iran, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Nearly 80% of the county is part of the Karakum Desert. Turkmenistan has very unusual regime, with the government controlling everything. And the former president for life Saparmurat Niyazov has named the city of Turkmenbashi after himself. He also name the months of the year after himself and his family members.
