The two Balkan countries: Serbia and Montenegro; can be explored by train and bus. While Serbia has no connection to the sea; Montenegro has a coast with nice beaches to swim, a good idea is to visit off peak season to escape tourists and also not to pay to enter a beach (which is non sense). Both countries are safe, friendly and have amazing landscapes.
