Lucy's question in Italy

Stay

Hello! Looking to stay in Italy for a month and struggling to decide on an area. Would prefer something fairly quiet but with a town or small city we could walk to - access to public transportation especially. Thinking Pavia, Parma, Bologna, Turin or Verona could be good options. Any advice?

Siena and the surrounding area could be perfect for you. Such a beautiful small city with some beautiful country houses in the outskirts. From what I remember transit was also very good. Bologna would be great too especially for the food!
Padova was a nice little city with a good location for getting out. There are some really nice things to see in the city too.
Parma definitely. Bologna too messy. Ferrara, Treviso, Vicenza also good.
