One of the least visited UNESCO World Heritage sites in the world, the Reducciones Jesuítica are beautiful ruins that can be easily visited on a day trip from Encarnación by local bus. When you purchase your entrance ticket, it also includes entry to other sites and is valid for 3 days. During our visit in the early afternoon, for most of our visit we were the only ones here, although we were told in the summer months it gets busy mainly with South American tourists. Be sure to catch the film explaining the history of the site - we missed this as we already had our ticket and went straight into the ruins.
