This monastery was different for me than other monasteries in Tibet. The parking lot is huge and there was a big screen showcasing the exciting things you’ll see. In other words, very chinese. I think this is because this is the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama and if you know Tibetan history you’ll know the Chinese government disappeared the kid who was supposed to be the next Panchen Lama and replaced him with a pro Chinese leader instead. He will be the main person to find the next Dalai Lama who the current one dies. Now he resides in Beijing. The grounds are beautiful and the history of this place is amazing.
