Staying at Bush Lodge in Queen Elizabeth NP was a dream. Our safari tent was beautiful and, being on the river's edge, at night, we were treated to hippos grazing around us and lions prowling. Absolutely magic! And the candlelit dinners were bucket list stuff. Who would believe it was possible on a backpacker budget? We hired a truck and paid one of the National Park Rangers to be our guide and did a sunrise self-drive safari.
