Black Horse
This Irish restaurant, with a twist of Czech cooking obvious by the presence of pumpkin seeds and breads, will please most gourmands who walk through the door. I went easy on this occasion by sticking with starters and sides. The seafood chowder (98 CZK) was chunky and flavoursome without needing any additional accompaniments or garnishes to complete the dish. The pâté from duck meat paired with strawberry halves and red veined sorrel leaves that followed was fair, although felt the Czech breads did not work on the flavours of the pâté as well as it could have. Service was patchy but my hopes were swiftly restored by the waiter's politeness and level of initiative which undulated throughout our time there. After some kerfuffle over ordering dessert we finished with one coffee mousse and two spoons. Overall it was light and fluffy yet tasted a little acidic and lacked the coffee flavour it needed. #free-wifi
