Duddell Street Steps and Gas Lamps
Duddell Street was built in 1875, now hidden among Hong Kong's towering skyscrapers in Central. Known to host the last 4 functioning oil lamps in the city, the 145-year-old stairs is a time tunnel into HK’s past. A Starbucks cafe, accessible through the stairs, has been transformed into an ‘ice-room’ (a traditional HK style dîner) with twirling fans, diner booths and tiled floors. The menu also features some traditional Hong Kong snacks like egg tarts and red bean pudding. #hongkong #duddellstreet #nostalgia #history #coffee #iceroom #cafe #art
