Vejmrda Trutnov
Vejmrda is a colourful word in Czech and my interest was piqued. Furthermore, coming here was a serendipitous find during a business trip to Trutnov. I had no idea what to expect after it was recommended. The understated exterior is a stark contrast to what can only be described as a professional, snug inside. The kitchen rolls straight into the dining area with no barricade or wall between them. It's got that very personalized touch. Half a dozen chefs, which seemed to double up as waiters, greeted us with smiles on entering. Service and decor were spotless. If I hadn't known Czech's only Michelin restaurants were in Prague, I could easily be fooled into thinking it has a star or two. The dishes were prepared to a high degree of precision. I really appreciated the hors d'oeuvre, which was light and refreshing, especially before the rather umami duck drizzled in dark sauce. The main dish was served with a cleverly crafted waffle topped with red cabbage and accompanied with parsnip puree. In conclusion I can highly recommend coming here both for the affordability, service but above all the mastery of flavours and cooking techniques. #finedining #toprestaurants #cuisine #czechfood
