Few hours from Taipei, the ride to and from the peak of the Taipingshan Mountain is an experience of its own. On top, the Taipingshan Mountain features the ancient forest, centuries-old trees back in Taiwan's logging days, as well as the old train system used to transport the logs from the mountain to the villages. As the day ends, going down from the peak allows travelers to enjoy surreal views of a seemingly magical forest, with its towering trees, gigantic roots, and winding roads, all engulfed in clouds. #hiking #mountains
