Saxer Lücke
In the regions of St Gallen and Appenzell Innerhoden are the Appenzell Mountains. Within them is a ridge covering some truly beautiful terrain. Saxer Lücke lies somewhere in this and is a sight to behold. The only way here is on foot and if coming from the west you must pass the Mutschen-Sattelpass at 2,069 metres. Below you're faced with a small snow field in summer and sharp hairpin turns as you leave it to its south.
There are some interesting jagged peaks around here making this spot a place to add to your hiking bucket list.
From the pass you can look down over Liechtenstein and the Rhine defining the border between the two countries.
