If NYC’s searing summer heat gets to be a bit too much for the kids, throw on the bathing suits, jump on the subway and head out here. Your children will squeal with delight as they cavort in the sprinklers around the gigantic steel globe, originally built for the 1964 World’s Fair. And if they tire of all the water fun, Queen’s largest park features a large number of other family-friendly attractions. Flushing Meadows-Corona Park is home to several playgrounds, sports (soccer, baseball, cricket) fields, the New York Hall of Science and lots of lovely spots where you can picnic, play or just relax.
