Hisham's Palace
The site of Hisham's Palace is the subject of some controversy over the verisimilitude of its continued existence. Some sources state it an earthquake ensued after its original birth in the 8th century it was then simply abandoned. Even though it was unearthed from as far back as the end of 19th century there are almost conflicting truths about it existence which makes it a curious landmark to reconnoitre. One original theory indicates that parts of this complex played a part in Mongol occupation functioning as a caravanseri. I spent three hours in the midday heat with a bottle of water and sandals trudging up and down the ruins. As one of the only visitors there I was content at the advantage of having unobstructed views and utter tranquility. #architecture
