Příhrazské skály
Overlooking the E65 to Prague lies the edge of Český Ráj on a small escarpment. Winter is behind us in Central Europe but coming in the middle of December or January almost assures some snowfall or at least an air of stillness and beauty. With its mild winters and slightly humid summers, visitors can enjoy a range of activities without much climatic discomfort. There are man-made caves close to the entrance at Olšina and the plateau lends itself to various vantage points further west. The 181 km² of nature, comprising of predominantly sandstone rock, is split into three parts and divided by two major roads plus a railway line. It gives newcomers a feeling of snugness and compactability - partly due to the clear boundaries which define the reserve. The area is peppered with a dozen castles, small bodies of water, restaurants, hotels and even spas perched on rocky outcrops. Hrubá Skála is one such example. Welcome to Český Ráj! #views #familyfriendly
