Liebieg Manor
Adjacent Reichenberg Castle is one the oldest standing villas from the Leibieg family. Johann Liebieg (1802-1870) was the ‘daddy’ of a string of Liebiegs that influenced a large part of town architecturally. He prompted a series of mansions to crop up around Liberec owing to his family's wealth. Not only was he was known for his entrepreneurial skills but was an adept engineer.
In terms of grandeur and age, compared to the other legacies, it ranks first place.
From 1953 to 2013 it served as the Regional Art Gallery until it was moved to the site of the former swimming pool on Masarykova Street.
The lines of hedge rows, gazebo, gatehouse, pergola and fountain definitely gave it the sumptuous edge over the other lavish villas in Liberec.
